Swinging Vacations II – Lifestyle Cruises!

Can I Drive?

Can I Drive??

Ahhhh…there is nothing quite like a cruise!  The blue water, the salty air, the live music on the pool deck, the naked people glistening with suntan lotion…. Wait, what was that?  Naked people!  Yes there are very few places that rival a cruise ship when it comes to Lifestyle vacationing.  There are almost as many different options on the water as there are on dry land.  There are small groups being organized all the time, and usually two or three times a year they will book entire ships!  Imagine, if you will, 2,000 to 3,000 swingers loose on a ship with absolutely no “vanillas” around.  Crazy fun times!  If you have the money or can get the right small group together you can even charter yachts to ferry you and your merry group of naked friends around the islands on your own itinerary.  Yes, there are charter companies who cater exclusively to the Lifestyle community.  So with that in mind, let’s explore a few options in more detail.  We will work our way from the most basic to the most outlandish in Lifestyle cruising.

Probably the most common type of Lifestyle cruise event occurs when a small group of like minded couples get together and buy tickets to a regular cruise.  This is usually facilitated through either a website or a specialty travel agency.  Now when I say a “small group” I mean any groups large enough to get special consideration from the cruise line but not so big that they can book the entire ship.  This may be 25 couples or it could be a hundred or more couples.  The more people going, the better the on board perks can be.  At the very least, you would expect your own block of cabins and some group activities such as meet and greets and possibly group shore excursions.  As the number of people in your group goes up, so does the list of activities.  You may end up with one or more decks of the ship booked.  They may close a particular pool or deck area and allow nudity within those assigned places.  You will probably also have regular events such as private mixers and themed parties for your group.  Even though they may provide private areas for these events, remember it is not an “anything goes” situation.  The cruise line’s employees are not in the Lifestyle and should be treated with the same respect you would show any member of the general public.  Public sex is usually not allowed anywhere that would normally be a public area.  Take it back to your cabin or to a room specifically designated for such activities.  Please respect other passengers on the ship who are not part of your group.  They paid for a different type of vacation than you did, and many of them will have children with them.  As soon as these people find out there is a Swingers group on board they will be watching for any illicit behavior.  Remember, most people have little to no real knowledge of what being a “swinger” actually means.  Some will expect your group to consist of a bunch of sex crazed lunatics running amok, humping everything in sight.  This is a good opportunity to show them the truth.  Swingers are normal, respectful people who happen to be a bit less inhibited than most.

If you don’t feel like sharing your cruise ship with the general public, no worries!  There is always a complete ship takeover coming up in the near future.  That’s right, not only is it possible to get enough Lifestyle people together to book an entire cruise ship, it usually happens a few times a year!  Now, this doesn’t mean the rules all get thrown overboard, but at least you don’t have to worry about any kids wandering into your private area.  There are also bigger events tied to these cruises.  Some have trade shows and seminars.  Pretty much like a huge floating swinger convention!

Now maybe you like the idea of having the ship all for your group, but you don’t care for that large a crowd.  Well by all means, charter your own ship!  There are several yachts for charter all over the world that cater to the Lifestyle crowd.  You get to choose your cruise itinerary, what you eat, what you drink, pretty much everything about the trip is under your control.  See a cool little island off the port side with a nice beach?  Tell the captain to pull over and let you check it out!  Try that on a cruise ship.  Take the time to do the research and find the right boat for your group.  They come in all sizes and different types with different characteristics.  Be honest with the person you are booking the yacht through.  Get in contact with the captain and ask questions.  What is allowed and what isn’t?  Do you mind if people “play” on deck?  What about special request?  “My wife always wanted to be taken by two men in a dingy…is that something we can make happen?”  Remember, the captain of the boat is ultimately the boss….make sure you are on the same page and you can have the most incredible vacation ever!
