6 Do’s and Don’ts to Make Your Swinger Profile Stand Out

First Impressions Count!

While we always encourage complete honesty when you design your swinger profile, there are certainly things you can do to make sure you are making as positive an impression as possible.  You will notice as you browse profiles on your swingers site of choice, that you will spend no more than a few moments on most profiles.   Here are a few do’s and don’ts we have picked up over the years.  As always, everyone has his or her preference, these suggestions simply reflect ours.

1. Don’t have your main picture, the one that shows up in search results,          be a close up of your genitalia.

Do choose a main picture that is tasteful and representative of what you     actually look like.

Wow!  There is nothing that makes me want to open an email like a picture of an erect cock.  I mean seriously.  We all know what they look like.  Unless yours is spectacular in some way… like an odd color, or has a particularly severe bend… it is probably not going win you any extra points.  While some people are hesitant to show their faces in public photos, you can still pick a photo that shows your overall body shape.

2.  Don’t put the bare minimum in the essay sections of your profile.

Do spend some time to write a thoughtful paragraph or two.

Along with your photo, the essay sections of your profile provide potential “friends” with clues as to your compatibility. Let your personality show a little and you will find people with similar personalities will respond.  Also we are automatically a little suspicious of profiles with very little information.  Fakers who just sign up on sites to see what pictures they can find tend to not put much effort into their profiles.

3. Don’t lie about your stats.

Do be honest and up front with your information.

Telling everyone you are 25 instead of 45 and putting up some old pictures might get you some responses, but do you really think they are not going to notice the extra grey hairs when you meet in person.  For the most part, local swinging communities are fairly quick to spread the word if someone is an obvious liar, and you will see your prospects dry up quickly.  If you don’t want to give out certain information such as age or weight, then put down 0.  Nobody is going to accuse you of trying to pass yourself off as 0 pounds so you should be okay.

4.  Don’t exaggerate your experience.

Do let everyone know what your true comfort level is.

If you tell everyone you have been in the Lifestyle for 5 years and love full swap, then that is what they will believe… and you are setting yourself up for some real drama when one of you freaks out.  Everyone was a newbie at one time and most will let you explore at your own pace.

5. Don’t put all your cards on the table.

Do keep a little something secret.

Take some of your sexy pictures and put them in a private album.  People will contact you to ask if they can “see your privates”.  This is a great way to start up a conversation.  Plus, if they have private pictures you want to see, you have a little trade bait!

6. Don’t be a lurker!

Do get validated.

Almost all swinger sites have some sort of validation system.  They may call it “certified” or “validated” or it might be a “real” tag, regardless of the actual term, it lets people know that someone has met you and you are a real person/couple, and not some creepy picture collector.  You can also take a picture of yourself and your partner holding a sign with the website name on it and a big smile on your faces.  Anytime you see a profile that has been a member for awhile and is still not certified you should proceed with caution.

There is probably plenty I’m missing, but this is a good starting place.  I would like to add, whether or not you choose to have your faces on a public profile, you should be prepared with some nice face shots to send because you will certainly be asked.  Everyone understands the need for discretion, but when it comes down to actually meeting with people, they will most likely want to know what you look like.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Mr. Toto
